How do lasers work to rejuvenate my skin?
Deeper lasers target the collagen in the deeper layers of the skin and cause heating and remodeling of this collagen. This leads to a reorganization of collagen and a tightening effect. More superficial resurfacing lasers can treat the top layers of skin, causing an improvement in skin tone and texture and decrease in age spots. Other technologies or wavelengths of lasers can treat small veins on the face whereas others can treat red spots or brown spots. Skin color can affect the type of laser used as well as how well it will work. There are also lasers to treat unwanted hair. No one laser can “do it all,” but many of these treatments can be combined to achieve a desired effect.
