In December 2011, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, Stage I. After a biopsy, my breast surgeon recommended a mastectomy with reconstruction possible at the same time. Both my breast surgeon and plastic surgeon recommended a nipple-sparing mastectomy with direct-to-implant reconstruction. I was very pleased with my care in Dr. Tenenbaum's office. She and her staff were always very helpful – answered my many questions and took great care of me.

Because I was able to have direct implant reconstruction at the same time as mastectomy, it made the ugly thing called cancer not so unbearable. Not having to have multiple surgeries made the recovery time so much less. I am back to living a normal life after cancer.

Self-image can affect your daily posture on life. Being able to have reconstruction at the same time as a mastectomy made a huge difference in my recovery process.
