Tummy Tucks (Abdominoplasties): Case I10

Surgeon : WCP WCP

Demographics

: female

Details

This patient in her mid 50’s had a standard abdominoplasty, or “tummy tuck,” in Saint Louis at West County Plastic Surgeons. She had a hip-to-hip incision and plication of rectus abdominus in exchange for being able to smooth out the abdomen. This means that in addition to removing extra skin, the abdominal muscles were sewn back together to their more natural, tighter position. Her main concern was not necessarily aesthetic, but following a hysterecotomy due to fibroids she still had a large pooch that made it difficult finding clothing because of the excess tissue.
