What is a 'Lifestyle Lift'?

This is a franchised short-scar facelift procedure that is performed by both non-plastic surgeons and plastic surgeons who have participated in a training course. Unfortunately, the exact surgical technique used in the Lifestyle Lift is not available for peer review by other plastic surgeons in recognized medical journals. The only ways to measure the outcomes of the Lifestyle Lift are through paid advertisements or reading online blogs – neither of which would be considered rigorous methods of evaluation whether someone supports or refutes this technique. Generally, short-scar techniques like the Lifestyle Lift involve less deep-layer surgery and may be done with the patient under local anesthesia. The patient may have less downtime; however, these facelifts typically do not hold up us as long as a more traditional facelift.

Dr. Terry Myckatyn and
Dr. Marissa Tenenbaum:

Trusted. Experienced. Committed.

Whether you choose to have a Lifestyle Lift or some other form of a short-scar facelift, you should consider the following:

  1. Will your surgery be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon? Remember that there is a difference between a "board-certified surgeon" and a "board-certified PLASTIC surgeon."
  2. Does you plastic surgeon offer other forms of facial rejuvenation such as traditional facelift, browlift, eyelid surgery, fillers, BOTOX®, facial implants and lasers? Not every facial concern can be solved with a Lifestyle Lift or any facelift for that matter. It is important to know that your surgeon has the knowledge and expertise to offer the particular procedure that best suits your goals, medical circumstances and specific anatomy.
  3. Are you comfortable with the office staff, surgeon and the information provided to you by your surgeon’s office? Cosmetic surgery is generally safe and rewarding, but it is critical that you are comfortable with your surgeon and their office, particularly if you require any aftercare to take care of imperfections that may arise.
