SAINT LOUIS INVERTED NIPPLE CORRECTION

How are inverted nipples corrected? Individuals can naturally develop inverted nipples, or they can occur after breastfeeding or surgery. To correct inverted nipples, a series of specialized stitches are placed around the nipple to push them out and provide a stable platform. Scarring is minimal.

There are six steps to nipple correction at St. Louis' West County Plastic Surgeons.
Inverted nipple correction at St. Louis' West County Plastic Surgeons involves six steps: 1) Making an incision in the lower nipple. 2) Lifting the nipple up so that it is no longer inverted. 3) Releasing tissue that tethers the nipple down. 4) Creating a vertical stitch to support the new projection. 5) Creating a horizontal stitch to support the new projection. 6) Suspending the nipple for a few days as necessary.

Associated procedures: Inverted nipple correction can be combined with most other cosmetic procedures of the breasts, body and face.

Anesthesia: Inverted nipple correction is usually performed with the patient under local anesthesia, but under general anesthesia when accompanying other procedures.
