Will I be able to breastfeed after breast augmentation?

Yes, most of our patients are able to breastfeed after breast augmentation, but it is important to explain during your initial consultation that you wish to do so. This information will help your surgeon determine the best incision location and implant placement because some options are better than others at enabling you to breastfeed later on. For instance, the infra-mammary (under breast) and trans-axillary (under armpit) incision locations do not interfere with breastfeeding, and the sub-muscular (below the chest muscle) implant placement preserves normal breast function. This is one of our most frequently asked questions about breast augmentation, so you’re not alone in having this concern.
